I had the privilege of modeling the Notus Helmet for the HAZMAT core of Halo Infinite.
This was a really fun piece to pull off as it incorporated cloth sculpting as well as hardsurface for plastic objects. Both of which are less common with regards to making armour cosmetics for Halo.
The obvious inspiration is PPE gear which I happen to have plenty of experience around from working with 3D printing and certain industrial chemcials, so I was able to draw from some real life inspiration to help the piece along.
I sculpted the fabric cap in zbrush, emphasizing the sharp and stiff types of crinkles you typically see in sheet plastic. For the rest of the helmet I was able to look at my real life NIOSH filters and full face respirator for reference on how things like seamlines, straps, plastic flashing and injection molding punch marks look.
